The article discusses the results of the Interregional Conference «Development of state textbooks on regional history», held by RVIO in December 2024 in Kazan. The experience of the Stavropol Territory in preparing textbooks of regional history is presented.

S.V. Lyubichankovskiy. Introduction of the compulsory discipline «History of our region» and key problems of its teaching.
The article offers an overview of the All-Russian discussion on the problems of teaching the discipline «History of our land», which took place in Orenburg in April 2024 and attracted the attention of more than 50 specialists from 22 regions of our country. The attitude of participants to five main problems is considered: whether in the modern Russian school a compulsory lesson of history of native land is necessary; what should be the optimal volume of a separate discipline «History of our land» in the modern school and in what classes it should be taught; what should be the structure of the course of history of native land, taking into account the need to link this issue with the all-Russian history; what are the guarantees and mechanisms to prevent the promotion of regional identity to the detriment of the all-Russian in the teaching of the discipline «History of our land».

The article presents a draft concept of teaching the discipline «History of our land» in the Orenburg region, created in accordance with the Historical and Cultural Standard of School Education and based on the order of the Ministry of Education of Russia from March 19, 2024 on the introduction of the discipline «History of our land» as a compulsory discipline in grades V-VII. The project consists of an introduction, thematic planning, planned results of mastering the discipline. It can be used as a basis for the development of similar concepts in different subjects of the Russian Federation.

The author of the article examines the problem of preparation and publication of school textbooks on the history of the USSR during the periods of the so-called developed socialism and perestroika; shows the difficulties of the authors’ collective consisting of V.D. Esakov, Yu.S. Kukushkin, A.P. Nenarokov in working on the textbook for the 10th grade; finds out the reasons for the authors’ long path to publishing their work; compares textbooks of the pre-perestroika and perestroika periods; draws conclusions about the contribution of the authors’ collective under the leadership of Yu.S. Kukushkin to the development of a new structure and content of the textbook on the history of the USSR of the 20th century.

The article analyzes written assignments given to schoolchildren at subject Olympiads in history, where the image of Prince Alexander Nevsky is used in various artistic embodiments. The authors draw attention to the fact that when preparing for such competitions, it is often necessary not only to know the facts, but also to be able to think logically, to intuitively understand what the correct answer implies, based on a general idea of the events and personalities, as well as on an analysis of the text of the assignment and accompanying material.

A.A. Nikitina. Formation of the system of state control in the sphere of protection of monuments: the contribution of P.P. Pokryshkin.
The formation of a system of state protection of historical monuments became one of the important tasks in the cultural policy of the Russian state by the beginning of the 20th century. This task had to be solved with the interaction of state bodies, the scientific and expert community and the Russian public. Success in solving this problem largely depended on the activities of enthusiastic scientists. In this article, the author aims to outline the contribution of the architect and restorer P.P. Pokryshkin to the creation of a centralized system of state control over the preservation of cultural heritage sites, the discussion and drafting of relevant bills, and the organization of accounting of the national historical and cultural heritage. The main research methods are documentary analysis based on the study of archival documents, chronological, historical-comparative and retrospective methods. Based on these methods, a comprehensive historical reconstruction of the administrative and social activities of P.P. Pokryshkin during his service in the Imperial Archaeological Commission was carried out with an emphasis on his contribution to the organization of the pre-revolutionary system of monument protection.
