A.S. Ischenko. The case of Yuri Dolgoruky or who founded Moscow?
The article is devoted to the problem of determining the identity of the founder of Moscow. The contradictions of the prevailing point of view, approving that Prince Yuri Dolgoruky founded the future capital, are considered. As an alternative version, are considered the opinions of historians on Andrei Bogolyubsky as the constructor of Moscow. It is shown why Yuri Dolgoruky, but not Andrei Bogolyubsky, had been staying in historical memory.

A.V. Juravel. Beginnings of treason: prince against volost.
The relations between prince and community (volost) in Old Rus’ is considered. They are differ sharply from relations under autocratic monarchy (gospodarstvo). The ancient volost was the territory, the power and the community at the same time. It concluded a contract with a prince who ruled over the volost according to the treaty with its community.

I.A. Akhtamzyan, A.Yu. Sidorov. General Plan «Ost»: extermination of population and plundering.
The authors analyze the basics of the Nazi Strategy on the occupied Soviet territory during the Great Patriotic War. They reveal the process of drawing out of Hitler’s inhuman project to annihilate the population and plunder the wealth of occupied regions, as well as the practical results.

M.V. Semikolenov. Discussions about the ownership of peasants to their land allotment in public thought in pre-reform Russia.
Тhe author considers the problem of land ownership in the views of public thought in the first half of the XIX century. The article analyzes the views of the peasants, on the basis of which they considered the land their property. The possibility of freeing the peasants without land was not considered either by westerners or slavophiles.

V.V. Tulubets, G.K. Nagiev. The Activities of Estonian Nationalists During German Occupation of Estonia in 1941-1944.
The studied topic has an actual historical and political significance. The author of the publication proved that the Estonian nationalists were the main punitive instrument of the Nazi occupation regime in the occupied territory of Estonia and committed mass destruction of Soviet prisoners of war and persons of Jewish nationality.

A.Yu. Klimov, I.A. Potemkin. Formation of the State Guard of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Government under the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in the South of Russia A.I. Denikin during the Civil War.
The article highlights a key aspect of the formation of the internal Affairs bodies of the white government in the territory controlled by the Volunteer army under the command of A. I. Denikin. Such a key aspect was the formation of the State guard, for the functioning of which the Temporary regulation «on the State guard»was adopted.

Methodic

O.Yu. Strelova. Key aspects of teachers training to use PISA tools in history education: CHG-skills.
In the second article of the cycle, devoted to the integration of PISA-tools into the process of teaching history, the system of skills that form and diagnose reading literacy is analyzed. RL-skills are correlated with subject and meta-subject skills and with the properties of RL-texts, which were described in the first article. Examples of RL-skills are given and deficiencies of their use in the practice of teaching history are revealed.

V.I. Varyushchenko, O.V. Gajkova. School textbook history as a tool of propaganda.
The authors of the article consider in detail Chapter 12 «How did the Rise of Totalitarism Lead to World War II?» a history textbook developed as part of the Michigan Open Book Project and they show its tendentiousness, lack of evidence and harm to the education of students in the spirit of objectivity and the ability to critical thinking.

M.S. Panasenkova. «Are the disasters of Crimea destined to repeat themselves?»: the Sipai uprising and the Crimean war on the pages of the Russian periodicals of 1857-1859.
The article analyzes comparisons of the Crimean war of 1853-1856 and the Indian mutiny of 1857-1859 on the pages of the national press published during the mutiny. The criteria for comparison were determined, as well as which of the conflicts was shown in the press to be more difficult for the English side.

A.K. Mordovin-Zalessky. «High command composition jf the Russian emperor’s army in the First world war».
The article is devoted to the definition of the concept of the «high command» of the Russian Army during the First World War. Based on significant source material, the author considers the main provisions and steps of the military hierarchy, revealing the principle of command and control of units and armed forces. In the article, on the basis of the analyzed material, gives his own definition of the term «high command».

D.N. Glukhov. The main directions of pedagogical prevention of offenses in the secondary school system.
