V.V. Kovrigin. How to organize the work with terms in social studies lessons and in project activities in humanitarian subjects
The article is devoted to the presentation of the author’s methodology for working with terms developed on the basis of Euler circles. It is noted that in modern science and the methodology of teaching humanitarian subjects, a very loose and inaccurate definition of concepts is allowed, which makes it difficult for schoolchildren to assimilate their meaning and brings experience of the non-necessity of science conclusions.

T.A. Puchina. New documentary sources on the history of military service in Russia.
The article touches upon the issues of combat readiness of the Russian armed forces of the pre-Petrine period, which are rarely discussed in Russian historiography. The data collected by the author on the basis of the documentary material of the RGADA are presented, characterizing the military-technical and personnel status of the corporations of the service people of the «instrument service», who make up the majority of the population of the border regions of southern Russia. Attention is drawn to the need to introduce new documentary sources on the history of the Russian armed forces into historical circulation, clarifying the picture of the country’s military potential on the eve of transformations.

The article presents an analysis of the historical context of the linguistic diversity of Indonesia since the 16th century. to the present and accepted educational documents during this period. Based on the results of the study, the stages of development of multicultural education in Indonesia were identified and described.

I.V. Kryuchkov. The geopolitical interests of Russia, the United States, and NATO in Europe at the beginning of the XXI century.
The article reveals the current aspects of the development of relations between Russia and NATO countries, primarily the United States in the context of European regional security at the beginning of the XXI century. Based on the historical analysis of the main stages of the development of relations between Russia and NATO, the main geopolitical motives and interests of the actions of the two sides are revealed, the reasons for the conflict of these interests are substantiated. The transformation of the geopolitical interests of Russia and NATO in the new century is due to the passage of several cycles of stability and crisis, which predetermined the current alignment of forces on the European continent. The current stage of the crisis in relations between Russia and NATO is the result of the impossibility of reaching a compromise between the parties to the conflict on the issue of the architecture of military security in Europe.

S.V. Ermolenko. Improving the quality of training of foreign servicemen in military educational institutions of the USSR in 1949-1985.
Examining the activity of the teaching staff in the organization of professional training of foreign servicemen in military educational institutions of the USSR, the author of the article notes that it was of paramount importance in the work of military educational institutions. In 1949-1985, the methodology of conducting training sessions was constantly improved and fully corresponded to its basic principles used in Soviet military educational institutions. The training of foreign officers was associated with a number of serious features in the work of teachers, which had to be taken into account in the interests of the successful implementation of the curriculum.

The author of the publication analyzed the political and educational work as part of the Soviet troops in Afghanistan in the course of solving the tasks of protecting and defending objects on the territory of that country, which was carried out by commanders, political bodies, party and Komsomol organizations, which had diverse forms and specific features due to the nature of the tasks performed by Soviet troops in Afghanistan.

The article shows that anthroponyms are a source of information about the life of the population of a particular region, with which you can get information about the history of the people, their traditions, the economic activities of their ancestors, about the environment in which they grew up and about the peculiarities of the national worldview.
