The article discusses some methods of students’ cognitive activity organization with the use of maps in history lessons. The authors propose a systematic approach to the development of students’ cartographic skills, as well as present educational tools which can be used during the lessons with the fifth year students in secondary school: historical maps, a system of questions and associated tasks.

Methodic
A.N. Bitkina. The development of communicative skills of high school students in the process of working with sources of personal origin in the lessons of Russian history.
Taking into consideration the results of students’ performance of a set of tasks, the paper refers to the methodological ways of improving cognitive activity in the study of sources of private origin. Based on the experience of organizing in-class activity with these texts in grades IX-XI, the paper shows the potential for the development of high school student’s communicative skills as well as proposes specific tasks on topics that reveal challenging questions in the course of Russian history.

A.M. Danilova. Housing construction in the USSR of 1955-1969 as one of the priorities of state policy.
The article provides an analytical review of the directions of housing policy of the USSR from 1955 to 1969. A brief history of the housing problem in the USSR is described. The relevance of this problem, significantly increased in the postwar period, is shown. The main features and characteristics of housing policy in the specified chronological period are presented.
