E.S. Gitsevich. «Philological Survey». Analysis and characterization of the journal.
This article is devoted to the analysis of the journal «Philological Review», published from 1891 to 1902 in the Russian Empire. During the analysis of the content, composition and team of authors, we come to the conclusion that this journal can rightfully be considered the first domestic specialized periodical scientific publication on the ancient world. The conclusions of this work are based on quantitative data collected during the review of all issues of the journal. They allow you to establish trends in the development of the magazine.

D.A. Krysin. Personality B.N. Yeltsin in school history textbooks of the 21st century.
The article contains a historiographical review of school textbooks devoted to the study of the personality and reforms of B.N. Yeltsin. Yeltsin’s personality is treated differently. During his lifetime, there were those who admired him and supported him, but there were also those who hated him and criticized him. At the present stage, he is called a leader of democracy and a reformer, but some historians criticize his reformist ideas and foreign policy. In this regard, historical sources from different periods within the school curriculum of the subject “history” are reviewed and analyzed.

E.I. Goncharuk. The formation of higher humanitarian education in Donbass.
The article examines the main stages of the formation and development of higher humanitarian education in Donbass using the example of the Stalin State Pedagogical Institute (SGPI). The work analyzes the history of the university from its creation in 1937 to its transformation into Donetsk State University in 1965. The main attention is focused on studying the organizational structure of the pedagogical institute, the dynamics of the teaching staff, the student population, which subsequently allowed the university to transform into the first classical university of Donbass.

A.S. Alymov. Historiography of the activities of the NKVD troops against the armed nationalist underground in the western part of the USSR in 1939-1956.
The topic under study has an actual historical and political significance. After new western territories had joined the Ukrainian and Byelorussian SSR in 1939, the armed nationalist underground was forcibly resisted by the troops of the NKVD of the USSR. These structures, using operational methods, identified members of the armed nationalist underground, the locations of the detachments and their leaders, carried out operations to eliminate them.

D.V. Buyarov. The formation of reader literacy in the lessons of universal history in the grades X.
The article examines the characteristics of methods and techniques for the formation of reading literacy in the lessons of universal history among students of the grade X. Attention is focused on the use of various types of text: continuous, discontinuous, mixed, composite, as well as various tasks aimed at developing such skills as finding and extracting information from the text, integrating and interpreting the text, the ability to comprehend and evaluate the text and use the knowledge gained for practical purposes. It is proposed to develop reader’s literacy using such innovative methodological techniques as insert, cinquain, mental map, etc.

The article summarizes the effective experience of teachers of the Urals and the Volga region in studying the history of the uprising led by Emelyan Pugachev (1773-1775), taking into account regional and ethno-cultural features of educational programs. The methodology of organizing practical work in small groups of «archivists», «economists», «literary critics» and other professional orientation is presented.

Y.A. Levin, S.O. Buranok. Development and theoretical basis of regional history course gamification.
The article deals with such a complex and multifaceted issue as the application of gamification as a methodology for classes on topics of regional history. The choice of topics is due to the fact that in the context of teaching local history subjects, game technologies as a whole are rarely used. The theoretical foundations of the concepts of gamification and editing are considered. The history of these concepts abroad and in Russia is briefly considered. The main forms that can be used within the educational process to implement the process of gamification of education are thestically analyzed. Consideration of the topic also required a closer acquaintance with the very concept of the game and its understanding in modern science, which made it possible to trace the transformation of games into such a complex educational technology. The history of the application of this methodology in education and various other fields of activity is also considered. On the basis of the above, the main advantages of gamification and editing as its more developed form as a teaching method are also considered. Also, as part of the study of the topic, promising examples of the use of games as auxiliary educational content are considered. Conclusions were made about the prospects for using game technologies in training. The article is based on domestic and foreign materials on the topic.
