S.A. Golovin. Interim results of studies of the royal remains from the necropolis of the Ascension Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin.
The purpose of this article is to comprehend the results of the study of the remains from the burials of the female necropolis of the Ascension Cathedral by the historical necropolis research group (1994-2010), formed on the basis of the Moscow Kremlin Museum-Reserve.

Т.А. Puchina. Evolution of the uniform of service men of the XVI-XVII centuries.
The article describes the historical and socio-cultural aspects of the organization of military service «on device» in the Moscow state XVI-XVII centuries the article analyzes the information contained in business documents of the Moscow orders relating to clothes policemen (i. e. provincial) corporations serving the southern regions of the state.

A.S. Ischenko. Struggle for Vladimir Monomakh`s heritage in contemporary Ukrainian historiography.

V.I. Shubin. Pioneers of the Great Greek Colonization.
The article studies the process of the foundation of colonies in Italy and Sicily by the chalcidians in VIII B.C. Comparative analysis of the evidence found in the writings of the antique authors has made it possible to draw the conclusion that the success of the chalcidian colonial movement depended upon good coordination of the colonists and on the activities of the oikistes.

V.A. Ivashchenko. About the far eastern citizens attitude to the Soviet regime in 1920 (by the intelligence information of the Joint state political directorate).
Due to late ending of the Civil war the Far Eastern citizens were largely defending private property, democratic liberties etc. The intensifying war hysteria was causing expectation of imminent falling of the Soviet regime. Under these circumstances the JSPD was dictating the human resource policy to the authorities, ensuring the citizens’ loyalty.

A.N. Kosikov. «Prison reform» of 1879 and its development in the last quarter of the nineteenth century.
The article analyzes the state of the penitentiary system in Russia in the last quarter of the XIX century. and the main provisions of the prison reform of 1879, which was a continuation of the liberal reforms of Emperor Alexander II the Liberator and entailed changes not only in the relevant legislation, but also in the prison management system, the daily life of prisoners, and prison life in the Russian Empire as a whole.
